    gender performativity in black mirror:

judith butler argues that gender is a performance, an act we commit to everyday that'd defines our gender and construct who we are

they also claim that sex and gender are different, where's sex is biological and assigned at birth whereas gender is fluid, and can change overtime

people conduct repearted actions within their life that construct their gender identity, for example by dressing in specific clothes, either more masculine or feminibe

yorkies gender performance subverts stereotypical feminine conventions, which is anchored by her outfit including long shorts and glasses, blue outfit which forms a binary opposition against the character of Kelly who is hegfemeonically attractive five and every stereotypically feminine, as reinforced by the mes of her purple outfit and long hair

in addition the dressing up scene is a complicated and direct example of yorkies complex gender performativity, whereas Kelly seems to have e a clear gender identity and feels co portable in how she presents her gender, oyktie appears more conflicted as she feels she has to change herself to  appear attractive to kelly, yorkies feeling of having to change her iderntigty links to what butler argues about gender being g complex

we can infer that Charlie Brooke aims to challenge hegemonic representation of gender and butlers theory demonstrates that gender is a complicated and fluid construct
